Cookie Legislation
As of May 2012, new European legislation brought in strict rules, governing the use and documentation of cookies.
This legislation affects every website in Europe and is designed to give clear and consice information to a website user regarding the cookies used on each particular website.
Further to this, website are now required to get opt-in authorisation from each visitor to a
website to gain permission to store cookies on their computer.
This legislation is to be enforced by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and
carries a substantial £500,000 penaly for non-compliance.
